What this policy covers

This policy covers your use of this website and the personal information we hold in order to carry out repairs for you. It does not cover other websites we link to; please read their own policies.

What we collect

When you contact us or book a repair we collect your name, your address, your telephone number and your email address, together with details of the appliance and the fault. Where an agency or landlord books on your behalf, we also hold their contact details.

When you use this website we may collect your IP address, your browser type and version, and the pages you visit. See our cookie policy for the cookies involved.

We do not take card payments through this website and we do not store card numbers.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your information to arrange and carry out your appointment, to order parts, to invoice you, to honour our guarantee, and to answer your questions. The lawful basis is the performance of our contract with you, or our legitimate interest in running the business.

Where you have asked us to, we may send you service reminders. You can ask us to stop at any time.

We keep records of work carried out and invoices for six years, because we may need them for tax, for warranty claims and for insurance.

Who we share it with

We share only what is necessary, and only with parties who need it: the parts suppliers who fulfil an order for your appliance, our accountants, and where you were booked in by a letting agency or landlord, that agency or landlord.

We may be required to disclose information by law, by a court, or to a public authority.

We do not sell your personal information.

Where we keep it, and how it is protected

Your information is held on business systems protected by access controls and encrypted connections. Where a supplier we use stores data outside the United Kingdom, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is protected to an equivalent standard.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to be told how your information is used, to see a copy of it, to have inaccurate information corrected, to have information erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to ask for it to be transferred to another organisation.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details above. There is no charge for a first request, and we will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority for data protection.

If the business changes hands

If the business, or part of it, is sold or transferred, personal information relevant to that part may transfer with it, and may then only be used for the purposes for which it was originally collected. You will be told in advance if this affects your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy, for example if the law changes. Any change appears on this page, so please check it from time to time.
