Hob repair in London

Ceramic, induction and solid plate. One dead zone, unresponsive touch controls, or an error code where the heat used to be.

Faults we see most often

If yours is doing one of these, we have almost certainly fixed it before.

One zone not working

A failed element or, on induction, a failed coil or power board. The other zones working is a useful clue, not a reason to replace the hob.

Touch controls not responding

Moisture under the glass, a failed control board, or the child lock left on. We rule out the free explanation first.

Induction error codes

E and F codes point at overheating, fan failure or an unsuitable pan. Some are a genuine fault, some are the hob protecting itself.

Cracked or chipped glass

A cracked ceramic top is a safety issue and needs replacing rather than repairing. We will tell you honestly whether it is worth it.

Fan running constantly

On induction hobs the cooling fan runs on after use, but a fan that never stops means a temperature sensor or the fan itself.

Tripping the electrics

Usually a failed element or a damp connection. Hobs draw a lot of current, so this is worth attending to quickly.

What to expect

Induction hobs look intimidating but are often very repairable, because the failure is normally one coil or one power module rather than the whole appliance.

We work on electric appliances only. We do not carry out work on gas appliances.

If the hob does turn out to be beyond economic repair, we fit a replacement integrated hob for £125 and take the old one away for £30.
