Our environmental policy
The greenest appliance is the one you already own.
Home Appliances Repairs takes its responsibility to the environment as going further than what the law requires. Reducing our impact is part of how we run the business, not a statement bolted onto it, and we encourage our customers and our suppliers to take the same view.
Our trade is, at heart, a form of waste prevention. A great many appliances that people are ready to throw out need one part and an hour of an engineer's time to give them several more years of life. Every machine repaired is a machine not manufactured, not shipped and not buried.
What that means in practice
We recommend repair first
Where a machine can be economically repaired we will tell you so, even though a replacement would earn us more.
Old appliances go to licensed partners
Anything we take away is disposed of through licensed operators, so the metals and the refrigerant gases are handled properly.
We reuse and recycle where we can
Serviceable components and packaging are reused or recycled rather than binned.
Efficiency counts in our advice
When a replacement genuinely is the right answer, we point you towards the models that will cost you least to run.
Repair it rather than replace it
Tell us the appliance and the fault, and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth saving.
