Cooker hood and extractor repair in London

Weak extraction, a motor that has stopped, or lights that no longer come on. Also fitting, if the hood needs replacing.

Faults we see most often

If yours is doing one of these, we have almost certainly fixed it before.

Extracting weakly or not at all

Saturated grease filters, a blocked or crushed duct, or a hood that was fitted to recirculate when it should have been ducted outside.

Motor not running

A failed motor or capacitor, or the speed control on the fascia. The motor is replaceable on most makes.

Very noisy

Worn motor bearings or an impeller loaded with grease. Both fixable, and the difference in the kitchen is obvious.

Lights not working

Lamps, lamp holders, the transformer, or on newer hoods an LED module. Rarely expensive.

Controls not responding

A failed fascia board or touch panel, or moisture and grease behind it.

Smells even when running

Charcoal filters that have never been changed on a recirculating hood, which cannot work without them.

What to expect

A great many hoods that do not extract were never extracting properly in the first place, because they were installed recirculating, or ducted through too many bends. Part of what we do is tell you which situation you are in.

Where a hood is genuinely finished, we install a replacement for £235, though the ducting and fixings are not included in that figure.

Repairs, like our other appliances, are £54 to diagnose and £54 to carry out.
